Disable Auto-Update Emails
Overview
Disable Auto-Update Emails stops WordPress from sending email notifications after automatic updates run. When WordPress updates itself, a plugin, or a theme automatically, it normally emails the site admin. This module lets you turn off those emails for core, plugins, themes, or all of them. Updates still run—you just won’t get an email for each one. You’ll still see update notices in the WordPress admin.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I still get update notices in the admin?
Yes. This only affects the emails sent after automatic updates run. You’ll still see “Update available” in the admin and can update manually.
Do automatic updates still work?
Yes. This module does not change whether updates run. It only stops the notification email after they complete.
What if I disable all and then want one type back?
Uncheck “Disable All Update Emails” and configure the individual options. Only the types you check will have their emails disabled.
Troubleshooting
- I still receive update emailsEnsure the module is enabled and you saved the settings. Check that you selected the right type (core, plugins, and/or themes). Some hosts may send their own update notifications—this module only affects WordPress's built-in emails.
