Customizer Reset
Overview
Customizer Reset manages your active theme’s Customizer data (theme_mods) from a dedicated admin page under Appearance. You do not need to open the WordPress Customizer. Create backups of current customizations, restore from a backup, export settings to a file, import from a file, download backups, and reset the theme to defaults. Multiple backups are kept (up to a set limit) with automatic expiry. Works reliably with themes that expect Customizer data, including popular themes like Astra.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work with any theme?
It targets the active theme’s theme_mods. Import/export is intended for the same theme (or compatible structure). Always test after import.
Will this reset my widgets or menus?
It resets Customizer-stored theme options (theme_mods). Other content (menus, widgets in sidebars) may live elsewhere; back up the site for full safety before major changes.
Troubleshooting
- Restore did not change what I expectedConfirm you selected the correct backup and that the same theme is active. Some options may be stored by plugins outside theme_mods.
- I do not see the menu itemEnsure the module is enabled and your user can edit_theme_options. Refresh the admin.
