Enable AVIF Upload
Overview
Adds AVIF (image/avif) as an allowed upload type, validates AVIF file headers on classic and REST uploads, and improves Media Library preview handling. Intermediate WordPress sizes are not generated for AVIF uploads. A status panel shows whether the server is ready (GD/Imagick AVIF support) so you know before editors try to upload.

- Sites adopting modern AVIF assets from designers or CDNs
- Teams whose hosts already support AVIF decoding
- Anyone who needs WordPress to accept
