Overview

Editing wp-config.php normally means opening FTP, SSH, or your hosting file manager—even when you only need to make a small configuration change.

WP Config Editor brings controlled wp-config.php editing into the WordPress dashboard. It combines a PHP-aware code editor with masked secrets, automatic backups, syntax validation, recovery protection, and an audit trail to make configuration changes safer and more convenient.

Production & Save Warnings
Before saving, you're reminded that incorrect wp-config.php changes can take a website offline. Production environments receive an additional warning.
Permission-Controlled Access
Only appropriately authorized administrators can use the editor, with separate capability handling for WordPress Multisite. Temporary Login sessions are blocked from the module.
