Admin Columns Customizer

Reorder, hide, and customize admin list-table columns for posts, media, comments, users, and taxonomies.

Overview

Admin Columns Customizer lets you control which columns appear on your WordPress admin list screens—Posts, Pages, Users, Media, Comments, Plugins, and taxonomy lists. You can add, remove, reorder, and rename columns. Add custom columns from
taxonomies (like Categories, Tags) or custom fields. Set column widths, enable sorting, and restore defaults anytime.

Who is this for?
Content managers, site administrators, and editors who work with list screens daily and want to see the most relevant information at a glance without scrolling or switching views.

Column Settings

Restore and Reset
Restore default columns for a single screen, or reset all column settings across every screen.
Manage Columns Button
A quick link on each list screen takes you straight to the column settings for that screen.

How It Works

1
Open the Admin Columns Page
Go to WP PowerSuite → Admin Columns in your WordPress admin.
2
Select a Screen
Use the sidebar to choose the screen you want to customize (e.g., Posts, Pages, Users, Media, Categories). Tabs let you switch between Post Types, Users, and Taxonomies.
3
Customize Columns
Drag and drop to reorder. Check or uncheck to show or hide. Use Quick Add for common columns, or click Add Column for custom fields and more options.
4
Save Changes
Click Save Changes. Your column layout is applied immediately when you visit that list screen.
5
View the Result
Go to the list screen (e.g., Posts → All Posts). You'll see your custom columns. Use the "Manage Columns" link on the screen to return to settings.
Performance Note
Column settings are stored in the database and applied via WordPress filters. Impact is minimal—only affects admin list screens when you visit them. Custom columns that query meta or taxonomies may add a small amount of load on large lists; use sorting sparingly on very big tables.

Frequently Asked Questions

Troubleshooting

  • Columns don't appear after saving
Make sure you clicked Save Changes. Refresh the list screen. Check that the module is enabled and you have a valid license.
  • Custom field column shows nothing
Verify the meta key is correct. Some plugins store data differently. Use Browse Fields to see available keys. Check that the field type (text, number, date, etc.) matches your data.
  • Sorting doesn't work on a column
Not all column types support sorting. Ensure Sorting is enabled in the column settings. Some custom field types may not sort correctly.
  • Manage Columns button is missing
The button appears only on list screens (edit.php, users.php, upload.php, etc.). Ensure the module is enabled and you have manage_options permission.
  • Column order resets or changes
Each screen has its own settings. If you restored defaults or reset all, your changes were cleared. Reconfigure and save again.
