Dashboard Columns
Overview
Dashboard Columns lets you choose how many columns your WordPress dashboard displays—1, 2, 3, or 4. By default, WordPress only offers 1 or 2 columns in Screen Options. This module adds 3 and 4 column layouts so you can arrange widgets in a wider grid. Your choice appears in Screen Options and is saved per user. No configuration needed—enable the module and the extra options appear on the dashboard.

Does each user have their own layout?
Yes. The column choice is saved per user. Each person can set their own preference.
Will my widget order be preserved?
Yes. WordPress saves widget order in user meta. Your arrangement is kept when you change the number of columns.
Does it work with custom dashboard widgets?
Yes. Any widget that appears on the dashboard will be arranged according to your column choice. Drag and drop works for all widgets.
Troubleshooting

- Widgets won't dragEnsure JavaScript is enabled. Try refreshing the page. If you use a plugin that modifies the dashboard, it may conflict—try disabling other dashboard plugins temporarily.
- Layout looks brokenClear your browser cache. The module uses CSS media queries—very old browsers may not support them. Try a modern browser.
