Disable Thumbnail Generation
Overview
Disable Thumbnail Generation lets you stop WordPress from creating selected intermediate image sizes when new images are uploaded.
You can disable every generated thumbnail or choose only the registered sizes you do not need. The original uploaded image is still stored, existing thumbnail files remain untouched, and image sizes continue to stay registered inside WordPress – only generation of their files is skipped during future image processing.
Disable Thumbnail Generation is a Free module in WP PowerSuite.

- Sites using a CDN or external image-resizing service
- WordPress installations generating many unused image derivatives
