Quiet Selected Reminders Without Calling It Maintenance

• On an agency-managed site, the person editing a page may not be the person responsible for testing and applying software updates. Hide Update Notifications can reduce selected reminders in that workspace, allowing the maintenance team to decide which categories should remain visible. The controls are independent: a site can suppress plugin notices without also suppressing PHP or core reminders. There is no blanket change until you make a selection.
• This module changes the update information presented through supported WordPress mechanisms and removes remaining badges with CSS. It is not a patching service or an update scheduler. A quieter interface does not mean the site is up to date, and a missing count is not evidence that no update exists. Keep responsibility for reviewing and applying updates explicit rather than using notification visibility as your maintenance checklist.

Review the PHP Option Separately

• PHP suppression has a wider reporting consequence than removing a small badge. It removes the dashboard PHP warning and the PHP-version tests from Site Health. Select it only when your team understands that those PHP-version reminders will no longer appear in those places. Hiding them does not change the server’s PHP version or resolve the condition that prompted a warning.
• The module does not suppress every possible update signal. Translation counts in WordPress’s update summary are outside this scope, and the Updates screen itself remains available. These distinctions are useful when a dashboard still contains an update-related item after you enable one category: the module is not a universal removal of all maintenance information.
