Remove Admin Bar Items
Remove specific items from the WordPress admin bar for a cleaner interface
Overview
Remove Admin Bar Items lets you hide specific elements from the WordPress admin bar—the black bar at the top when you’re logged in. Remove the WordPress logo, Site Name, Updates, Comments, New Content, Customize, or the “Howdy” text. You can also remove the Help tab and Screen Options tab from admin pages. Choose only what you want to hide for a cleaner interface.

Who is this for?
Administrators who want a cleaner admin bar, or agencies who prefer to hide WordPress branding and clutter from the top bar.
Features
Remove Admin Bar Items
Hide WordPress Logo, Site Name, Updates, Comments, New Content, or Customize. Each can be toggled independently.
Remove "Howdy" Text
Replace "Howdy, [username]" with just your username in the admin bar.
Remove Help Tab
Hide the Help tab and drawer from admin screens. Reduces clutter for users who don't need it.
Remove Screen Options Tab
Hide the Screen Options tab from admin screens. Use with caution—some users rely on it to show or hide on-screen elements.
Works in Admin and Frontend
The admin bar appears in both. Removed items stay hidden everywhere.

How It Works
1
Enable the Module
Go to WP PowerSuite, find "Remove Admin Bar Items," and click the Enable button.
2
Configure Settings
Open the module settings. Check the items you want to remove: WordPress Logo, Site Name, Updates, Comments, New Content, Customize, Howdy text, Help tab, or Screen Options.
3
Save
Settings save automatically. The selected items disappear from the admin bar and admin screens immediately.

Performance Note
Lightweight. Uses WordPress hooks to remove nodes from the admin bar. A small inline script runs for "Howdy" removal. No extra database queries or heavy processing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this hide the entire admin bar?
No. It removes specific items. To hide the whole admin bar on the frontend, use the Hide Admin Bar module instead.
Who sees the changes?
All logged-in users. The settings apply site-wide.
If I remove Site Name, can users still get to the dashboard?
Yes. The Site Name link is removed, but users can reach the dashboard via the My Account menu or by typing the URL.
Troubleshooting
- Removed item still appearsClear your browser cache. Ensure the module is enabled and you saved the settings. Some plugins may add their own admin bar items—those use different IDs and won't be removed by this module.
- Screen Options or Help tab still showsVerify you checked "Remove Screen Options tab" or "Remove Help tab" and saved. Refresh the admin page.
